So I pulled the trigger on an Obsidian Blue/Gray interior Touring AWD. Selling price $37250 with Honda $500 military discount. With tax/tag/fees/'protection' package , $42780 out the door. Includes 24 mo/24k free maintenance and 3rd party lifetime warranty. Tampa Honda. Sooooo, She Who Must Be Obeyed is pleased! We'll be trading in our '17 CRV (also blue/gray!) because SWMBO fell in love with the Passport at first look and wanted AWD, even though she likes the CRV very much. She likes sitting higher like her old Odyssey did. Was tough to get a non-Elite AWD in Florida, but they are there. 2 new cars for her in 15 months. That's it for the foreseeable future! My turn next...
Hi Scooter1, just curious how much was your 17 CRV trade in value. I had CRV EX is ready to trade in for Passport as long as their OTD price is right.

Personally I think you should be able to get another $1500 to $2000 discount. There are quite a few dealers out there willing to discount further.

Check CarGurus.com for the model you are looking for then extend the search nationally and check the prices. If you are willing to travel you can use that as leverage. A $200 airplane ticket is worth saving a thousand or more dollars.
I second travel to get want you want both in terms of cost and/or trim. In 2017 I flew from AL to New York to purchase an RL RTL-E. At that time the RTL-E was no where to be found in the SE and the couple I did find were green or blue. My NY price more than covered cost of travel. The price was also better than local dealers were quoting. Long way to say, travel if the time and numbers make sense.

Full disclosure: dealer error in tax calculation and lack of understanding regarding standard equipment (ATF cooler) on the Elite cost dealer approx. $2,400 on deal depending how it’s priced. Both mistakes were in my favor and dealer did honor price quoted without any pushback.

I went to the dealer (NYC) with my family. Sales offer me invoice price $38,680.42 (destination included) on Touring AWD and will including Floor mat and wheel lock. Another negotiation with the trade in value next week.

I think this is a pretty good deal. I’m satisfied and the car is everything I hoped and more. I’m trying post pics but the site says the pics are too large.

Just curious what state this is in? my goal is to purchase out the door for shy of 40K

Download a jpeg optimizer app. You'll be able to reduce the size of your pics. This site won't take pics much above 200k from my experience.

I picked up my new Passport Elite today from Anderson Honda in Palo Alto, California. Very Happy.

Total price:
$44,252.32

Vehicle Price - $39,988
Doc Fee - $85
Total tax - $3,606.57
License Fees - $552.75
State Fees $20

They gave me $6k trade in for a beat up 2011 Acura RDX Turbo with AWD, and I'm happy with that. Best cash offer I had on the car was only $3400.

I'll post pics as I do work on it. I got the white exterior and the black interior.

Quick question for those who got Honda Care from Saccucci Honda. Can you get that from them even if you are on the West Coast? My dealer quoted me $2400 for Honda Care, and I said no thanks since I saw that I could get it from Saccucci Honda for $1395.

Question, please correct me if I am wrong. So I live in the state of Florida if I buy a Honda at one dealership. But found a better price for hondacare at another dealership can I purchase Honda care elsewhere or it has to be at the purchasing dealership? Thanks

I believe that because of Florida Honda dealers complaining about people going out of Florida for cheaper Hondacare warranties Honda agreed that Florida residents can only purchase Hondacare from Honda dealers in Florida. Bit it is worth a try.

I think we should have a free-standing Honda Care thread...I'll make one...

Down here in Florida, when I bought my 2011 EX-L Pilot, they didn't offer Honda Care Warranty, only 3rd party ones (which the sales guy said was just as good), well, I bought it (The best Fidelity had 100k miles). I had 2 clams which they denied saying it was normal wear and tear, which it wasn't. Would never buy another 3rd party Warranty again. I had Honda Care on my 2004 Pilot and had several clams and they paid them without hassle. I would only buy a dealer extended warranty again. Hopefully, here in Florida, they haven't marked them up much.

I believe they can charge whatever they want...Honda dealers outside of Florida will not sell Hondacare to Florida residents.

State law in FL states these types of insurance policies cannot be sold at any discount. If you have any other address it can be sent to, Saccucci and others will sell it.

With the awesome info I learned here, Cargurus.com and getting online quotes for HondaCare...I was able to negotiate $39,000 for the car and got them to match my lowest quote for the extended warranty. (He started at $2995) My insurance co offers GAP insurance for $35 a year, big difference from the $695 they were charging. Made sure they got me a competitive finance rate too. (4.49% for 75 months) Trade was best I could do with 78K miles and a car that needed tires and didn't hold its value. My husband and I absolutely LOVE this vehicle. My dad taught me how to buy a car when I was a kid, I think he would've been proud of me!

No disrespect intended but over 6 years to pay for a vehicle is a long time. The term would only makes sense to me if it was a 0 -1% loan. Gap insurance, is that necessary because you will owe more on the car than what it will be worth if it’s totaled? Kind of a red flag that your buying a vehicle you really can’t afford. Finance managers will do anything to sell a vehicle.
My dad would have never let me buy a vehicle I couldn’t pay for in at maximum 4 years. When you have to pay for 6+ years you are setting yourself up for having a car payment for the rest of your life. In 6+ years the cycle will start over because you will want something new.

Yes, That was the out the door price. Tax, title, etc.
Once I spoke about a Costco dealer that I was planning on going to They started dealing even more.
I was even able to get 2.1% for 60 months finance thru them. That was nearly 2 points lower than my Credit Union I was going to use.
