2019 Passport Touring / Crystal Black Pearl
42175 MSRP
-3245 dealer discount

Dealer included all weather mats and rear cargo cover. Since their car wash was real busy at delivery time, salesman said if I took it and cleaned it up myself he'd give me another tank of gas when I needed it. I always prefer to wash and detail my own vehicles.

picked up a 2019 Passport Touring AWD / Modern Steel Gray for $37,400 yesterday.( before Tax & Doc fee)
Dealer has lifetime powertrain warranty included
thought it was a pretty good deal. I had contemplated an EXL AWD for $35,100 but went with the touring.

Indianapolis I didn't have any add ons. Very competitive market. 4 dealers matched the price on the EXL and 2 @ the $37,400 price for the touring. 2 others were within 100 and 200 respectively. I am guessing that they would have matched, but the lifetime drivetrain warranty was too good to not go with them. I had 4 dealers in the area and I asked each to get as close to $37,000 and I am a buyer. they essentially said that they doubted that anyone would go below $37,400 ( and they were right) so I shook the salesman's hand and drove away with it 2 hours later. one dealer wouldn't get within $1200 and told me to take that deal ( she didn't know I had multiple offers at that price) I was happy with it

Thanks for the info. I’m trying to get this same deal, but in a smaller market in SC. Was the PPs you got quotes on on the dealers’ lots? I cannot find a black touring AWD close, so afraid local dealers won’t offer as good of a deal on inventory they have to trade for.

it was on the lot, but they ( all dealers) did offer to go get the color combination through dealer trade. We were between light Gray interior vs. Black -- ultimately went with black and that was in stock on the lot where we ultimately bought. it does make a difference when there are multiple dealers in a relatively small ( Indy) market. my "home" dealer qualified his EXL offer to stock on hand but only had blue. we told him that blue was our least likely option so he immediately said that the sales manager said he could make the trade with a dealer if we didn't want blue... and we didn't. they had the same color touring on the lot that we ultimately bought but they were $100 over my best price ( plus no lifetime drivetrain warranty )

Model purchased - Elite
Color - White with black interior
Accessories - mud flaps, all weather floor mats, cargo liner (I didn't ask for this stuff, it just came with the car)
OTD price - $44,074
No trade in, my sales tax is 7%
I don't think this matters but I put $20,000 down. $5000 of that was on a credit card. I have the money but I wanted the cash back on my card. (2%)
Also, my interest rate is 2.75% through a local credit union I have always done business with.

Basically, I found the best deal within a couple hundred miles using a popular car selling website. I called them and asked for an OTD price. I then called all the local dealers and asked them to match the price. The second local dealer I called said they would match it within $200. I figured I would rather pay $200 than drive 4 hours round trip. I've always liked Hondas but never bought a car within 5 years of being new. I'm almost scared to drive it.

I've already purchased door visors, back seat cover and the cargo net from college hill honda. I'm going to have a friend put some protective vinyl in key spots on the car for me. I hope to put some pictures in the photo section soon.

Drove 82 mi. Was supposed to be a 'bare' PP, but SafeGuard ETCH ($285 - "we put it on all new cars!") appeared on contract! I demanded I wasn't going to pay for that scam, and since he already lo-balled $850 me on my trade in, I was ready to walk. Instead I asked for free options to offset. Wheel locks, splash guards, and cargo tray. They were out of stock on the tray.
I am sure glad to be rid of my 2017 CR-V EX-L AWD, 8000 mi. Would never have bought it if the PP had been available 18 mons. ago.

Dealer add ons are a pure and simple rip off..That is why they can sell at invoice and still make a sizable profit....You add on the dealer hold back of 2% and any manufacturers incentives..quota incentives etc....They are whistling a happy tune selling a vehicle at invoice.

I was quoted $40k before taxes/fees on an Elite model, so I am going to go in tomorrow and make the purchase. They were very hesitant initially on making a deal with me, but they changed their tune when I showed them quotes from competing dealerships.

B4 signing any purchase contract, check each and every filled-in space. Even the Date of the purchase contract. After all, one is signing at least a thirty five thousand dollar contract. Don't let your 'new-car emotion' cloud your discipline.
One should also read each and every paragraph in the contract and ask about anything you do not understand about it. But, alas, not too many people do this and regret it later. Don't let the Financial Agent rush you. He/she negotiates purchase contracts every day - you probably don't.

"SafeGuard ETCH ($285 - "we put it on all new cars!": I hope they actually applied it on YOUR car.

I trust that the "fees" won't be too extravagant. You should already know what the fees are to be.
