So I told my dealer that I was re-examining my options and that I didn’t feel comfortable taking delivery on a Touring that was sitting in pieces.
He located another exact vehicle with the recall already fixed (so he says), and I should take delivery this week.
Glad that has worked out for you. I know it has been tough working your way through this. None of us like having to have anything done to a new car. Really enjoying ours after this first minor fix has been done. This is a really great driving car. We find many reasons to jump in and go somewhere. Best of luck on this one.

I can't wait to get delivery on the vehicle. I have already ordered some accessories (mats, mud flaps) etc ...Crossing my fingers that their will be no more "glitches: ......

Wow, what a joke. Pieces! Some new car experience. and a lack of respect towards you.
I would take a picture of the torn out dash and show it to the GM, and mention your loss of time to,
and ask him is that the way you sell brand new cars. If the dash is not put back on right or missing a fitting, it will vibrate, and that noise will make you upset. They still need to comp you anyway, even if you get another one.

Does this have anything to do with the fact my new Passport Touring nav system won't "talk" to me? Once I program in a destination, it will not speak turn-by-turn instructions. I have turned up guidance volume but still can't hear anything. If I play the stereo it mutes at the appropriate times the nav system should be speaking. Help... ?

Not sure about the relation to the recall, but have you tried pressing the volume up on the steering wheel at the time it's supposed to be speaking but isn't?

Yes, I've tried that. I also tried turning up the volume with the volume knob when it was supposed to be speaking, and through Settings I turned up "guidance volume". Dang... this is one thing I didn't check on my test drive! Back to the dealer I guess. Hope they have a quick and easy fix but I'm apprehensive about it.

What is this recall? I put in my VIN on the Honda Owners site but it does't show any outstanding recall.

I would either go to the dealer or call the salesman that sold you the car and ask if the telematics control unit module and software update recall was done before you got the car and as for your nav it could be part of the software update or a simple fix in your settings..

Yes I plan on contacting the service department about the nav problem. The PDI checklist left in the vehicle was dated 1/31/19 it appears my Passport is an early production unit. One of the reasons I bought a Honda is I like the Garmin based nav system, so hopefully it can be fixed to speak the turn by turn directions as it should.

Sounds like the "rogue mirror" wasn't really a "problem". Seems like it adjusted with the memory seat as it suppose to do. After you adjust it to your liking, you need to store it with the memory button again.
I understand that Honda s in the process of establishing a four-hour instruction course that is a complete and exhaustive review of the owner's manual. It is a two-day/two hour session program that will be given at many of the Honda dealer locations. There will be be a question & answer period at the end of each session. There will be no final test and all who stay awake will get a Certificate of Completion.:unsure:o_O

UPDATE: I had the Passport the dealer today. It turned out the center speaker was not connected at the factory. The service department reconnected it and I can now hear the Nav system speaking. They also did a reset/update of the audio system, so I had to reprogram my presets and other audio settings. I asked about the Telematics Control Unit Module recall, and it was done at the dealer after it arrived in early February.

I'm quite happy the Nav voice problem was a simple and quick fix.

This 'early production 'bug' is one reason why I wait to purchase a new vehicle. I expect that there will be more examples showing up on this forum. One thing the Passport has going foe it: It is based upon an already manufactured vehicle - the Pilot. Hopefully there will be a minimum of production assembly 'bugs/errors/missteps'.

I went to my dealer service dept this morning because I had a minor issue with my driver side mirror moving on its own everytime I opened the door from the parked locked position...easy fix ..it had to do with the memory seating..any way as they where writing my order in their system a recall pops up and she asked me if I want to take care of it now...of course I said yes....when I asked her what was the recall she said it was some module that controls many systems in the car ,all I could remember right now is the at&t hot spot and honda link and a whole bunch of other ones ....I was at the dealer for about three hours ...the work order said( telematics control unit update )and (TGS -A11 control unit) ...just wanted to let all of you guys waiting for your passports to ask about it before you take your baby home.... I sent my dealer a copy of this before I took delivery and he said it only applied to a few vehicles ans not mine.

Same here. My Dealer is saying that the wifey's Passport Elite is not subject to the recall. Of course I trust him about as far as I can throw his 250 lb. frame. Be cool to know what Passports are effected and why. I'm gonna try to find the answer here.

Research: NHTSA

Perform a little search at their website on 2019 Honda Passports and you will find as of today there has been 11 manufacturer communications. Seven are for electrical system, two are for equipment, three for steering, and one for structure.

These are their numbers, I add differently.

Stuck,
