Hey finz72 I know your upset ,I would be too but take it from someone who has the car and went thru the recall already the car is all worth the wait....they are going to try their best to talk you out of a refund ..just make it work for you ..make them offer you something...

I’m trying to be patient, believe me. Like I said, if they could just give me a timeframe, I can handle that and make the decision. But to leave it open ended with no expectation of when, that is what kills me. Thanks for the advice.

For that reason and many others I like to deal with dealers that are part of a larger chain of command.
Usually that comes down to them being part of a large dealer network with more hands involved within individual dealerships although they're not staffed in said dealership all the time. However at the same time, those major dealer networks can have major downsides, Ultimately ti comes down to doing your research.

You have a right to be annoyed. You put down a $1000 in good faith to them in part of a deal
that has apparently failed on a delivery. The GM of that dealership should apologize to you in person
and offer some kind of compensation in respect towards you, the customer. In the mean time, if you
have another car to drive, no need to worry to much. you will get your Passport of your choice soon enough, and this will be memory that will be soon forgotten as you drive your new car.

wow, just on the Piloteers forum and found a thread dated 8-3-18 on page 11 about a member who had just purchased a 2019 honda pilot touring and had to return it to the dealer because the hot spot and honda link and emergency button was not working???? I wonder how long honda new about the problem and why would they let the Passports make it to the dealers before fixing the problem....

Any why don’t they have replacement parts stocked to address the known issue ?
How many people aren’t getting their Elite and Touring models delivered because of this ?
I seem to be the only one ....

You are not the only one. I was supposed to take delivery of my passport Feb 5-8 but it still hasn’t arrived at the dealership over this issue. Put $500 down on Feb 2. Yesterday they told me they hoped it would arrive “late next week”

My vehicle arrived 10 days ago and is still sitting in a holding lot. they will not release it to me until after the recall is fixed. Deposit of $1000 0n 2/2. Still no time for fix ….

If your agreement had a deliver by date.... ask them to either provide you with a free rental car until the car is delivered, or a $500 reduction off of the original sale price, or some accessories you may want.

Or if you don't want the vehicle at this point ask for deposit back.

That's what I would do.

Thanks ..
I really want the vehicle and I ordered accessories (that came in) already for the SUV. I'm just amazed that this isn't being expedited since they are holding my deposit. I can understand the vehicles that aren't spoken for waiting, but this is ridiculous. I will give them until the end of next week.

I went to my dealer service dept this morning because I had a minor issue with my driver side mirror moving on its own everytime I opened the door from the parked locked position...easy fix ..it had to do with the memory seating..any way as they where writing my order in their system a recall pops up and she asked me if I want to take care of it now...of course I said yes....when I asked her what was the recall she said it was some module that controls many systems in the car ,all I could remember right now is the at&t hot spot and honda link and a whole bunch of other ones ....I was at the dealer for about three hours ...the work order said( telematics control unit update )and (TGS -A11 control unit) ...just wanted to let all of you guys waiting for your passports to ask about it before you take your baby home.... Just went to see my Touring that is sitting waiting for the recall.
The whole dash is ripped out and just sitting in a holding lot.
I’m really upset, so much so that I may nix this deal. It was shocking to see my new vehicle disassembled before I take delivery. Wow

Module is behind the info system. They pull that to access and change that part then update software. Mine was done two days after I took delivery.
Kind of shocking to see a brand new vehicle, one that has my name on it, just sitting there in pieces with no estimated time of delivery. Never been through
Whew. Okay, that's not too bad. I've pulled out the head unit in our Pilot to add an iPhone aux interface. The whole dash off would scare me, though. Sorry I jumped the gun.
It’s not just the head unit. It’s the head unit and the dash completely over to the passenger side door.

You have to be the judge. I always cross my fingers when the dealer "fixes" things.
So I told my dealer that I was re-examining my options and that I didn’t feel comfortable taking delivery on a Touring that was sitting in pieces.
He located another exact vehicle with the recall already fixed (so he says), and I should take delivery this week.
