On my touring model , I have cooper AT3 4s tires size 265/50/20 I’m not taking it off road in extreme elements . Just snow , rain ,dry . On normal mountain roads or highways . Ski resorts , Lake Tahoe etc.
Can you send me or post another pic with this tires? Hard for me to make them out in that picture. I too want to keep my OEM touring wheels and I am hunting options that look more aggressive. Thanks

Had 18" KMC 708 Bully wheels and NItto Terra Grappler 255/60r18 tires installed this week. The tire shop only had the chrome lug nuts, so will probably end up swapping them for black soon. Otherwise, happy with the new look!
I'm really torn between the Black Rhino and KMC wheels right now. Do you mind posting your wheel specs (i.e. width and offset)?

What color is your Passport? The photos make it look like three different colors. Looks cool though!

I'm planning on getting a Passport Touring soon and have been doing some research on all-terrain tire and wheel combos. I wanted to post what I've found so far for everyone's reference and to also get some feedback from the group (first time looking into this stuff and not an expert by any means, so all comments welcome). I appreciate what everyone has shared so far.

My understanding is that a 30" diameter tire is the largest size that will fit without rubbing in a stock configuration.

Stock tire for touring and elite: Continental crosscontact (265/45R20 104H) revs/mile: 707 dia: 29.4"

Largest AT tires in 29 to 30 inch range for 18 inch wheels:

Nitto Terra Grappler (255/60r18) dia 30
Nitto Ridge Grappler (255/55r18) dia 29
Continental TerrainContact A/T (255/55/r18) revs 716 dia 29
Continental TerrainContact A/T (245/60/r18) revs 702 dia 29.6

Yokohama Geolander A/T (255/55/r18) revs 715 dia 29.1

BF Goodrich KO2 (255/55/r18) revs 717 dia 29
General Grabber AT2 (255/60R18) revs 692 dia 30
hankook dynapro atm (255/60R18) revs 692 dia 30

I've been looking for 18" all-black wheels that will fit and this is what I've found so far:

KMC km708 bully
KMC km716 nomad
Black Rhino York
Black Rhino Overland

I'm currently leaning toward the Terra Grapplers on KMC bullys. Anyone have experience with how much road noise to expect from the Terra Grapplers? From what I've read online they are on the low end of noise for an all terrain tire. I currently run Goodyear Duratracs on my land rover for reference.

Bumped because it's good info...

What’s the largest size tire that will fit the stock 20inch wheels? Ie the stock 20 inch wheels have 265 45. Can you fit 265 50s without rubbing? How about 265 55s? I apologize; I’m not well versed on tire/rim sizing.
Marv’s cooper AT3 4S 265/50/20

He said perfect fit with no issues. Info and pics were fragmented in various replies

Those are one of my 3 finalists. Other is the nitto grappler or terra. Need to do some more research on the nitros. Wish someone on her had a pic to post of confirmation of fit for the oem wheels.
You’ll probably be the first. I’m in the ‘keep the stock 20s’ camp at the moment too. Probably not upgrading ‘til fall though and I am watching craigslist for oem 18s off a ridgeline or something.

It’s actually my wife’s passport. He really wants to keep the oem wheels but hates the tires on it. Will be getting one of the 3.

I can confirm, the stock tires on the Elite model are horrible in the rain. I don't know if it require some breaking in period, since it only have 500 miles, but I don't feel safe at all in the rain, especially running though puddles of water. I will upgrade to Nitto grappler 265/50/20 soon.

When you do let us know and post some pics , those are on my short list.

I drove 6 hours in the rain on Sunday, including running through standing water on the edge of the road. I prefer a different brand of tire than the OEM Continental, but any tire will hyrdoplane with standing water puddles. You have to ease off the gas and coast through the puddles. Otherwise, wet traction is fine and handling feedback of the Passport is very good.

The trade off with more aggressive tread is road noise.
