i have had no signal or no sound 4 times..
service has had the car for 11 days now. (two months old.. 2500 miles)
I have the sound failure on video...the dealer sent it to honda.

They said they will replace the tuner... but 11 days later they still have my new passport.. at least I have a loaner from them...

law suit from accura/honda owners over infotainment issues as above apparently filed in california and moving forward...
I think they fixed mine. Never had those problems anymore.
Hope they’d figure what was wrong with urs and everybody else’s soon.
Seems like we all do have similar problems but not exactly the same.

Honda has had 2 trials for repair.

If you only have radio loss, then why are y

Honda has had 2 times to fix the menu of problems. The vehicle drove a little over 1000 miles after the first attempted fix. We are hoping, as we are unsure, the repair has been made. We like the vehicle. We as of yet not had a loner. The unit has been with Honda collectively more than 10 days of inconvenience given that the problem is not isolated to one vehicle andthe loss of the speedometer a safety issue recognixzed by Honda. Honda gets one more opportunity to make right if the need arises.
Loaner at times appears to be a dealer decision..

One of my dealer decisions is not only PRICE but also loaner policy.. I always call service before buying a vehicle and ask their policy on loaners. If the answer is anything beyond.. WE PROVIDE A LOANER IF THE REPAIR IS expected to be longer than 3 hours.... then i look for another dealer in the area to buy from..

One dealer started the well we call honda na and ask them if it will be covered... I move on immediately.. If they had the best price another dealer will typically meet or beat it.

I have looked at loaner policy for the last 40 years.. It is a business model that some dealers think is important and others do not.... Also I have begun to make sure te dealer offers the brand of vehicle I have purchased. I do not want to have a volvo or mercedes and have them pay for or provide a nissan or a ford.. I want the size and safety and comfort of what I purchased not just 4 wheels... Some dealers now have an enterprise or similar rental concession in their building.. They pay the bill but it is whatever the rental company has for vehicles.

I hope your vehicle is fixed!!

Loaner for a malfunctioning radio... Honda must think there is more to it or they would not have the car for 12 days at this point in time.. THE VIDEO from my cell phone is solid gold as to proof of problem.. and the dealership values that proof in their dealing with honda NA.. THe dealer is my advocate.......

Malfunctioning radio takes your eyes off the road while trying to correct... a very real safety issue..

YMMV

Quite an impressive post.

Unsure of the reality, but service mgr mentioned during a review of all of my problems that the popping issue has to do with the sounding of the touch screen. Modify the sound control volume of the touch screen such that your touch to the screen is muted. Bottomline though Honda should be addressing this issue rather than an avoid tactic. Hopefully, this issue will not be considered a "characteristic." as the auto manufacturers like to call behaviors of a vehicle that will not cause death.
I can't figure out how to mute the touch screen.

picked up car with the new tuner installed.. Dealership is great.. Said ..."we installed a new tuner but we do not know if it has the same problem you experienced "not bench tested".. This I fully understand..

We had a long discussion of the SOFT CONNECTORS.. on the tuner and radio... THe belief is the connection in some cars was not complete and this is causing a problem requiring a "replugin of the connectors... the soft connector issue is believed to be what is causing the popping and related noises in some cars...

Interesting another passport showed up as I was leaving .. with the popping and related noises.. with or without the cell phone navigation issue and across am/fm/satellite etc..... fortunately this car is "NOT MY MONKEY and NOT MY CIRCUS"

I will be going to the "dead spots I experienced with the car and original tuner to see if the new one fixes the dead spot issue or if that is one of the problems

Within the last month Honda has replace a display, tuner, and two other electronic components as well as a wiring harness. The last install was the tuner to satisfy the radio problem and the speedometer screen on off issues. Hopefully all will be well.

have them check infotainment for codes.... hard codes and soft codes

easy to do

hold all three buttons on left of infotainment touch screen.. home/return and whatever the third is

brings up diagnostic and maintenance etc.. screens

go thru each..

One of the diagnostic screens shows all the codes...

interesting stuff..

Dealer is talking to honda TODAY and asking about the many dozens of codes that came up..

Honda has not provided details of each code to this dealership ... (maybe they have others)..

But huge number of hard fault codes suggests all is not good in Honda/panasonic land.. perhaps also android/honda.... and pixel/honda.... and...

will learn more soon

What's the latest on the entertainment system completely freezing up and needing a CTRL-ALT-DEL to reboot it? It only happened one time on my Passport, shortly after I got it. Then about a week ago, I started getting a message on the screen that an entertainment system update was ready to install. Just let it install a little while ago, it's version B.1.0.26. Release notes here:

I was expecting (hoping) this kind of update would be the one that solves the entertainment system freeze-up issue, but the release notes don't say anything specifically about it. Time will tell I guess, but since it only ever happened once before, suppose it could be a very long time to determine if it's fully resolved.

Here’s what I know. My passport has been at the dealer for a month. I have their rental and have declined to pick mine up until the permanent fix is in place. I received a call last Monday that Honda has finally identified the infotainment issues to be tied to a part in the amp that was spec at 180 degrees but part is 150 degree. I was told new amps are on the way and to be delivered starting this Monday with mine being ready for pickup on Tuesday. Supposedly this is “the” fix. I did however sign up to be part of the class action lawsuit regarding this issue. This has taken entirely too long to acknowledge and fix... Mark

Initially we had several problems all displayed on the screen. Display "box" changed, harness, and speed display replaced. Display problems were reduced. Speed display contend to go dark. Radio changed. With fingers crossed all is well for 1000 plus miles. Like the vehicle, not the problems.

[180 deg vs 150 deg?

can you be more specific.. what do the degrees refer to? positioning of a component? temp? please advise if you can..

My dealer knows nothing of a new tuner part or new tuner part production .. or corrected part or bad part.. honda tech has not informed them of any related or similar solution..... or.....or...or..... honda regional repair maven scheduled to see my vehicle..

please share more if you can... part number??? or better description of the item that will correct the problem... anything you can add would be of help
