Great to hear they responded so quick which restores my faith in Honda from all I have heard from both owners and industry experts that audited how Honda and other major brands perform on all levels.
Who responded to what? I see nothing here.
I was referring to Toyota’s response to the Camry complaints. Nothing from Honda yet in regards to what the OP referred.

They have been trying to fix this ZF 9-speed for years, some things can't be completely fixed.
Poor design on this one, that's why the new Honda 10-speed transmission is designed differently. Alex on Autos also stated that. The new 2013 Honda 6-speed had issues to, so only one software update fixed
that for 2014. And the early 2017 Highlanders were fixed to.

Try driving in MN with snow covered roads 5 months of the year and then complain about your LKAS not seeing the road stripes. lol
We get about 4 months of snow on good years up in Big bear in CA.
I am down home now because of too much snow at the cabin now. To much snow and no lines on my dirt road for LKAS to. Lol

Glad you are ok. Thank you for posting this important safety issue.
Its about the on going issues with this non Honda outsourced 9-speed transmission that is to blame.
There are many reviews about it and including the 2019 year. They only fixed it with starting
off in 2nd. The other issues are still there. It took those few seconds to decide to drop one or two gears.
Called gear hunting. The Honda made 6-speed doesn't have this issue. That is why......
The 9-speed is quicker 0-60, but slower in the Quarter mile, and at passing cars (Like you did)
compared to the well proven 6-speed. Also makes you wonder why Honda came out with its new
10-speed, which is much better on the posted reviews.
For your own piece of mind. The lower 3 trim levels of the Honda Pilot have the proven and
better transmission. Maybe you can ask for a trade in at the Honda dealer. Those Pilots are
a 100% Honda, and so are the upper 2 trims of the Honda Odyssey. Really no reason to leave Honda for one Transmission's bad history, even back to the 2014 jeep issues.
Decided to trade in the Passport.. looking at the Toyota 4 runner.
Any thoughts on this?

4Runner transmission logic is pretty bad. It takes forever for it to shift anywhere and feels like it goes from first to overdrive at a really low speed. Then refuses to get out of overdrive once it's there.
Agree 100%. The Tacoma has the same issue, hence why I dumped it for a Passport. It was just horrible on the freeway.

Aren’t the 4Runner, sequoia and Prius the last 3 cars made for the world market, freeing them of all the constraints imposed on US market cars that lead to the problems like power delay/acceleration hesitation in the first place? Also, they don’t have that horrible stop/start “technology” that you have to read turn of EVERY time you start up the car.

It's my belief they changed the programming for fuel economy reasons. The transmission behavior is one of the biggest complaints on the 4Runner boards. A pedal commander helps a ton. I have the same transmission in my GX470. But the extra torque and older transmission logic masks the issue.

^this op has deleted the posts, then put back and at this time deleted again:unsure:
I removed it because my post was being manipulated and my words twisted. At one point my post, verbatim, appeared beneath someone else’s picture on a Facebook post by this forum.

As you know, nothing is truly erased for the internet..I’ve come back twice and deleted it. It wasn’t until I edited the post and replaced it with the ellipsis that it appears to be gone.

For those who are interested, I’m still in the loaner car. I’m scheduled to meet with the Honda rep later this week to ‘discuss’ the issue. If it isn’t fixable, as the service department has said, and I don’t get a refund or EQUAL value vehicle-not a Honda-I will WITHOUT hesitation or further censorship post the entire course of events on all social media outlets.

You’re right. It’s not a a court, but it IS a legal issue, now. When it’s all said and done I’ll post the service papers like you asked....You said you’d eat crow on your other post???? Hope you’re hungry!
