If you can get them to hold that price and not tack on a bunch of fluff, grab it! That discount is much better than most of us are seeing.
Its still more than we were wanting to spend tho. We were originally trying to stay around 32,000 then the passport pricing came out and it was higher than anticipated. Which led us to test drive the pilot since the Pilot EX AWD can be had from 32,500 to 33,000 in our area. Hmm...

emilgram, if you are in South Florida, check out Braman Honda:

You might be able to work on them a little more because they add some dealer supplied options. However, even with those options, it is still a significant discount off MSRP. Might be a good choice if they have the color that you want.
I got an email today from them quoting $39,999.00 as out-of-the-door price for a 2019 Passport Touring 2WD. Before taxes that was $37,880.33
They now have my attention!

Great price to be paying for these which makes me wonder what depreciation will be like because getting discounts down can help to offset what might come in the future although Honda's typically have good resale value.
Being similar to the Pilot doesn't entirely help the Passports case for the long term but it can contribute to a future where the Passport is an entire model of its own.

Was offered $36,800 on a Passport EXL AWD? MSRP is $39,355? Wonder if I can get them to come down more. In Pittsburgh, PA. No taxes or plate/doc fees included in that price.
That is a decent deal, still think there may be more give. Tell them to throw in floor mats

I forecast that the passport will only be made for a few years. It will then become a highly sought after car by high school and college kids. This will probably hold its value very well.

It will be sad seeing these abused in ways they shouldn't which is typical of that younger demographic but its also an essential part of Honda culture. We've all grown up around Honda's and seen them as our first ideal cars due to cheap cost of buying, cheap ownership throughout whatever duration we're committed to and so on. Maybe this is what'll pave the way to a brighter, more culture oriented Honda community?

Some of you may or may not know, but having worked in the Automotive industry for over 15 years, including at a Dodge Dealership and an OEM Parts supplier; the dealer still makes a ton of money selling at "Invoice" price; first they do not pay invoice price for a vehicle (they pay less) and second dealers get money back on each vehicle they sell.

So don't let them tell you they are not making any money selling at invoice...

True. Pilots are selling for well below invoice. Over time, I’m sure Passports will follow suit.

Well known fact. hmm, car lot taxes cost is huge, Owner, GM and make 6 or more digits easy, all staff salary, sales- office- service, utilities (think what it cost to heat or cool your house x Size of dealership) etc etc etc.. they whine they lose money(y)
