So here is a question. Picked up our 2019 Elite today. We wanted white with black interior so dealer had to locate one. Signing the papers, we were surprised to find out it had about 400 miles on it. It was driven about 140 miles (vs car carrier) to get to our dealer. Then, looking at the spec sheet, its stamped DEMO. We were never told this. Would you call the dealer on this? May not have that much leverage since we paid near or below invoice. The Mrs is pretty set on the white color as well. Looking online, it mentions you may be entitled to 25 to 40 cents per mile on it, which is only 100 to 160 bux. I guess its "legal" to sell as new even with 400 miles.

I would call the dealer out on the fact that was a Demo and not disclosed.. you where buying a NEW car in good faith - not a Demo or used car. That being said...Most states consider it new as long as it was never registered with plates. Dealer plates used on Demo's normally aren't registered to a specific vehicle. I have bought Demo's before but they were sold as "Demo" not NEW. Really depends on what you feel like dealing with. I would at least ask for a credit. Can't get and won't know if you don't ask. Just my .02 worth. Good luck & Congrats on the new to you PP.

Thanks

At first I was not happy it had that many miles, but knowing the Mrs wanted the White/Black combo, I was ok. Getting home and opening up the new car spec sheet and seeing "DEMO ONLY NOT FOR SALE" made me a little upset. When paying the finance fella, of course they offer the extended warranty for an add'l $1600. I wonder if they would now offer that for free if I complained. Me personally, I'd take it back for whatever color they have on their lot with no miles, and they can have their DEMO back, but the Mrs. loves the white color.

I had a similar situation. I bought an Elite but it had less than 10 miles on it. The window sticker was not on it, but when i got home i found it in the glove box and it said "Demo Only Do Not Sell" in big letters.
I went back to the dealer and they contacted corporate to make sure there wouldn't be any issues with the sale. They told me that when a new vehicle comes out, certain high volume dealers will get vehicles to use as Demos so they will always have one to show the buyers. They will later sell them as their inventory gets built up.
Mine had actually been in their back lot for almost 3 months. They never realized they had a Demo model until i told them.
It sounds like yours was actually used as a Demo, although that's still not a lot of miles for a demo, usually when they sell them as a demo they may have a couple thousand miles on them but will be discounted as such.

Not sure what you mean by add-ons but it does come with the extended warranty which at this dealership is unlimited miles and as long as you own the car. As far as mileage goes not sure I have not seen the vehicles yet but they have two msm and one blue one.
Add-ons or accessories like the crossbars, door edge guards, hood air deflector, running boards, splash guards...

Looking at an EX-L FWD. Spent some time trying to get dealers to beat each other and now quoted at $32981 before tax/fees. Has anyone done or seen better than this? I saw some AWD going for about $1000 more. Makes me wonder if I could do better. AWD is not necessary for me. Very little, if any, snow where I live.

true using an online pricing service like https://www.truecar.com/ and see what kind of offers you get from local dealers.

I'm interested in your extended warranty. Would you share who underwrites that extended warranty or who the dealer is an I can check with them. As we put on 20,000 - 27,000 miles a year - I would definitely be interested in that warranty. Thanks.

Over the years, I've purchased new cars with 3 miles to nearly 400 miles on them. A couple of cars I bought came from other dealers in the state and they were always driven to my local dealer, never transported, even though I once asked and was told I'd have to pay the transport charge. A 2007 Mustang I bought had to come from a dealer about 150 miles away. It was originally delivered to my local dealer, traded to the dealer 150 miles away, then traded back to the local dealer for me to buy, hence the mileage on a "new" car.

It is from Curry Honda MA they include it with all new cars and certain used cars. Not sure if they sell it separately but check with them.
