Madison dealer says they won't negotiate more than COSTCO discount. Would you please share which dealer you bought from and who you worked with. I don't mind driving a couple of hours to save as additional $1800. Thanks.

I've got a quote for a EX-L FWD that's $37,373.01 (Tax title and license included). I'm having trouble getting any dealer any lower, and am wondering if I should keep pushing? Has anyone managed to get lower than this? Is this the limit they can go down too?
There is currently a factory incentive for $1000 off if you own a late model competitor's vehicle. I argued I could get a Pilot cheaper. My price looks to be about $1500 less than most but we have high state tax and that gets you.

Thanks. What is your impression of it after a month? The mrs drivers a 15 pilot. A honda mechanic told me there issues with the 9-Speed Automatic Transmission on some of the newer hondas.
I previously owned a 2012 Volvo XC60 and have been more than pleased with the Honda Passport. I love being higher off the ground, I like the look of the vehicle and handling. I have more room in the front than my XC60 as well. I haven't found a complaint yet.

Mikebones:
Sounds like you got a great deal !
I just stopped by the Bethesda dealer today to see the Passport for the first time in order to check out the size.

Had a few quick questions for you.
1) Did your car have only low mileage on it when delivered to you?
2) Did the discount include any rebates or loyalty incentives?
3) Was this your first choice for color and trim level, or did you pick up this deal by chance (clearance special), and/or did you get prices for other Passports at any other area dealers?

Thanks for any answers to my questions to help me get started on shopping around for a good deal as they try to clear out the 2019's to make room for the 2020 models.

Hope you're enjoying your new ride!

  1. The Passport had less than 10 miles, including what I put on it during my test drive and whatever miles they put on it moving it to the dealership. There was another Passport that had over 200 miles on it; I asked if they would reduce the price anymore, but they said no. ?
  2. The discount or negotiations that I did over email and phone did not include any rebates or incentives.
  3. Yes, I knew the exact color/trim that I wanted. I contacted Ourisman via email after I had searched their inventory. Before reaching out, the best offer I could find was with Koons in Fairfax. But they wanted $43,000 out the door.?(n)
They kept telling me that the salesperson messed up by giving me that price but that they would honor it. I made them wait by a week before coming back and buying it. At first, I thought that they were just full of it and were just saying that as a selling point. But after seeing what others have paid, I believe I got a good deal. ?

I think you got a great deal also. Didn't really feel the Elite was worth the extra $$ - especially when the 1st dealer we visited said they would not NOT negotiate on the price as they couldn't keep the Elite's in stock. To get a better price I had to go thru Costco Auto program. Once I got those numbers - then other dealers started moving on price. Still looking for that ultimate bargain.
