I don't like how I can't drive or reverse with the door open. Sometimes I want to open my door to look down to the curb or line, when parking while inching forward oe backward a bit.
That's interesting. So --- If someone approached your PP and if the doors were unlocked, that person could keep your car from moving simply by opening the door??? I hate to educate any potential or current carjackers but that would certainly make it easier for them.

I thought the same when I tried parking in my garage with the door slightly open. I mentioned it to my sales person. He said it's because I didn't have the seat belt fastened. He was right. I didn't realize I unfastened it as I pulled into the garage. If I keep it fastened, I can drive forward or reverse with the door open.

Good to know. Now will hit the car jacker with my door both times running him over and then backing over him. Fantastic!
Thanks

TO each his/her own. Just remember, and this is important especially if a homicide is involved, it takes 1 1/2 seconds for the transmission to shift in or out of reverse. See earlier post (#237).

As has been pointed out, the Passport shares the same engine with the Pilot and Rideline, virtually the same interior and electonics as the Pilot and Ridgeline, so the Passport is much less prone to first year problems than many other "first year" vehicles that are designed from scratch.

I've already made a post about QC and safety issues I've been having with my Passport and American Honda's lack of accountability and refusal to fix any of the issues under warranty. That being said, here's what I can add.

What I love:
-Engine power and delivery
-AWD with true torque vectoring
-so much room
-even though its a pilot/ridgeline... it's not.
-so much room
-AWD

What I don't love:
-emergency braking freaks out sometimes and will not let me accelerate until it comes to a complete stop(another safety issue???)
-the shifter area plastic scratching super easily. so much that i covered that area in vinyl wrap. wow.
-cheap telescoping sun visors... so cheap looking...
-seat bolstering is extremely unsupportive
-fit/finish/qc issues galore
-why 20" wheels... tire choices are limited
-mpg isn't stellar
-transmission can be rough at times and gets confused when downshifting
-clunk sound when reversing for the first time after start up
-LKAS and ACC arent very refined. ie LKAS ping pongs in the lane, and ACC sometimes accelerates way too fast when pacing a car in front
-honda warranty
-american honda accountability
-interior lighting is paltry compared to the pilot and odyssey
-tech/specs/features are kind of on the older side
-auto shut off is SO inconsistent and/or aggressive

Do i love the car? yes.
Do i have tons of issues with my particular car? yes.
Do i think there are first year woes? yes.
Will i buy another honda? probably not.

I’m having a issue with my drivers side mirror. When I put my passport in reverse the mirror tilts so you can see curbs. When I put the car back in drive the mirror is never back in the original spot so I have to adjust the mirror every time I get into car. Is anyone else having this issue?
If you set your mirror switch (the one you move left or right to adjust mirrors) to the middle location, it'll stop tilting. It only tilts the mirror that switch is on when you put it in reverse. Hope that helps, mine made me super dizzy each time so I turned it off

Okay, I've got a "hate." I hate that I can't permanently disable the Auto-off thing. We shouldn't have to remember to push the button EVERY SINGLE TIME we start the car.
I recently noticed in the manual that due to the auto-off-at-idle feature, the battery is “special”, and can’t be replaced with just any battery. I wonder if this means I’ll be stuck buying Honda batteries, which isn’t a huge deal, but I do like the Optimas.

For those of you who don't feel comfortable with the use of lethal defense methods, you may want to just get a can of Pepper Spray and keep it handy in the center console (LOL)...

When my 2002 BMW battery died, I bought a replacement at Walmart and did the swap myself. When my 2012 BMW battery died, I found out, it was a special battery with a built-in memory that could only be replaced by the dealer and it was over $500...!

Hope the PP battery is cheaper...
