ive done it all , sometimes it will work for a bit then it fails in that siri dosent work
Wow, this all sounds quite frustrating. I have an iPhone X, running 12.3.1, and it’s on Verizon, and CarPlay (and Siri) work fine on my Elite AWD. I listen to Podcasts, use Maps, and Siri to dictate and read text messages while I”m driving. I don’t talk a lot while driving, but when I do, I don’t have any mic or cutout issues. Siri’s responsiveness depends on the quality of the LTE connection, but that’s an issue whether I’m in the Passport or not. Sometimes the initial connection doesn’t work the first time, and I’ll have to unplug/replug it in. Also, CarPlay activates less consistently if I have the iPhone plugged-in before starting the car — I usually wait until the head unit is up and running before plugging-in the phone. Incidentally, Siri also works when on Bluetooth by pressing the talk button on the steering wheel. I don’t think the Passport supports wireless CarPlay, but I haven’t messed with that.

... now, if I could only get Apple Music to quit randomly deciding which music to leave on my iPhone (and iPad/Macs), and which music to stick back into the cloud, I’d be much happier :)

Good luck with CarPlay issues and please keep everyone posted with whatever solution fixes is.

im jealous lol. first it has to be acknowledged by honda. i just want to make one trip to dealer not several. no loaners at my dealer so its very inconvenient to have any work done. they wont replace head unit cause i am having intermittent issues. the bluetooth works very nicely so it could be worse lol. thanks for your thoughts.

Today I took a road trip, and the entire system just crapped out on me. I received a call, and half way through, the sound on both ends dropped. The call was still connected and neither end could hear each other. I unplugged the phone, thinking Bluetooth should work, but nope. I disconnected and returned the call. After the call, I went to back listen to the XM radio and nothing. I switched to FM got the message No FM audio sources available.

I had to pull the car over to a rest area and do three start and restarts to get the audio system back. It seems as though carplay had locked the audio channel and would not let go or work properly.

This seems to be degrading every time I drive the car now.
