How is the noise factor if you can report back tomorrow / interested if u can hear it through ur sunroof closed maybe at 35mph as I haven’t had one before either
Under 50mph it isn't bad. Can it be heard, to me: yes. Radio can drown it out. But it's not any type of annoying whistle as I've read elsewhere about roof baskets.

All is relatively good until you clear 70mph. Then it starts to get much louder but nothing to make me want to pull it off the rig. Now, this was a couple miles on the freeway. Not sure how it'll be with some extended miles.

Caveat from me: I'm used to aftermarket intakes and exhausts making all kinds of noise for me. I've never had a "quiet" vehicle.

Some more time with the roof basket. Took a longer trip this past weekend with some highway miles. You can hear the "whoosh" sound but nothing annoying to me. I still was able to get 24+ mpg using cruise control at 72 mph with the basket mounted. Very happy with this.

I did recently open the sunroof during a local commute. No doubt the basket makes a whistling sound (you hear the whoosh when it's closed). Unless you have all the windows down and the radio playing, the basket - with the sunroof open - can be annoying. This was disappointing but I have to admit I don't use the sunroof much here in central Florida. Too HOT.

Pulled the trigger today on some new wheels and tires.

Went with Petrol P1B wheels in matte black. Size: 17x8.

https://www.petrolwheels.com/custom-wheels-rims-p1b/

And Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S tires. Size: 255/65-17.

http://us.coopertire.com/tires/discoverer-at3-4s.aspx

Hopefully have them next week some time. Going to move the Honda TPMS sensors from my stock wheels to the new set-up since they are "programmed" to my rig.

:) :) :)
I can't wait to see how the 17s look! I think it's going to be a nice fit.

I just hope they fit. I was looking at the XD129 Holeshot wheels but everywhere, including KMC, was saying they would not fit. Per KMC, nothing below 18" wheels will fit on the Passport. However, Tirerack has the XD129 listed as a choice for the Passport. Even their chat discussion said they are "guaranteed to fit".

Not sure what to think but I'm glad I'm purchasing through a local Discount Tire store. If there are any problems I have no doubts Discount Tire will make it right -- they always have.

Very nice! I just googled - honda passport elite modern steel, and your thread with photos was the top google search! after talking finally tonite with my local dealer that after 3 months I finally get to drive home to tomorrow and there are no other touring modern steel anywhere in California. He has this exact model. Any major differences that are a pro or con vs the touring? I've been researching touring all week...

BTW - gorgeous front yard and cobblestone driveway!

Elite has the following which is not on other trim levels:
  • Automatic-Dimming, Power-Folding, Heated Side Mirrors
  • Heated Steering Wheel
  • Perforated, Heated, and Ventilated Front Seats
  • Rain-Sensing Windshield Wipers
  • Wireless Phone Charger

Added the crossbars this evening.

Using the "defined" spots for the crossbars the distance is about 29" (outside to outside). As the crossbars curve, the height off the roof at the rail is about 3.5" and I'd guess it's about 4" from the roof in the middle.

Greetings 407 Guy, Could I pick your brain? I am going to order my Crossbars this weekend. Could you tell me where you purchased? Also where did you get the below tools?
Trim Tool Set (T/N SOJATP2014)• Plastic Trim Tool (T/N SILTRIMTL10
I was going to make a trip to harbor freight but then saw on amazon the trim tool set but not sure where to get plastic trim tool. Anything else I should add to my shopping list? Any tips would be great!

Hey Pdog.

I purchased my set from HondaPartWorld https://www.hondapartworld.com/8812_08L04-TGS-100

I did not use a trim tool but instead layered on some blue tape on the tip of a flathead screwdriver.

One thing I learned was that you must lift the end piece off where it's closest to the roof. Dummy me was trying to lift from the gloss black part of the rail (above my yellow box). I inserted the screwdriver on the inside side of the end piece (towards the shark fin) in the event I jacked up the plastic somehow so it would be less visible.

Thanks. (y)

No issues that I'm aware of but it's REALLY close at the front calipers.

So I have a bit of a road trip this weekend. About 100 miles each way, mostly freeway, so it gave me a chance to see how the new shoes ride/feel. For me, they were great. No road noise, no odd tracking. Felt like the OEM set-up. VERY happy with the Cooper tires. The loudest thing right now is the roof basket's "whoosh" while on the freeway. But I do not find it annoying.

Side note, washed the rig today. Ugh, that roof basket makes it a pain to dry the roof. Thinking in the future to just removed it for washing.
