Damn. Yesterday a Honda sales guy told me I could get 2.9% if I buy before the end of the month. I didn't see any mention of it on the website which is why I asked here. Bummer.

Thanks.
Of course my timing reference may be exaggerated, but I’m just saying it’s a bit early in the vehicles life/model year cycle for those offers. But maybe if they don’t sell as well as they’d hope you’ll see those offers sooner. You certainly won’t see a higher rate due to waiting passed the end of the month as the salesman is suggesting to pad this month’s sales number.

When I purchased wife's CR-V in 2014, I came to the dealership with pre-approval from local credit union. I also put down significant amount, Dealer's finance office was able to beat my pre-approved rate through Honda Finance even so officially their rate was higher. The explanation I've got was that the down payment played role. I put down ~40%.
The same local credit union has 2.99% for new cars right now.

Is that financed with Honda? Dealers play games bigtime with finances. Made a deal years back, get into finance office guy goes 6%. Said nope, do better or I’m gone. 2 rounds and he dropped to 1.9 and said no biggie, he still makes money from the bank

Brand new Pilots in So. Cal, have 0.9% financing through Honda.

USAA was at 3.54% last time I checked, I can get 3.0% from a local CU. Navy Fed CU offers 2.99% for 36 month auto loans.

My Wife and I have max FICA scores, so if the dealer can match the CU%, I may just go with Honda, so they can make a little bit more off me (as I am trying to buy as close to "Invoice" as possible...

Dealer listed 4.49 on website. Then I went to credit union. They were at 3.9 but they matched another credit union at 3.5. Then went to Honda Dealer and they checked with other banks and I got 2.9. I went with that. Got a nice deal. They paid off my lease which had nine months left (CRV). They came down on the price of the car and I got free splash guards, all weather floor mats, and trunk floor protector. About a $460 listed price value thrown in. I was happy. Bought black pearl elite. My 16th Honda. All from the same dealer and salesman!

I am hoping lower prices are on the horizon. Have a look at this article:
https://www.autonews.com/automakers...tumbles-40-higher-incentives-weaker-sales-mix

Nothing like a sale to bring in cash, Honda and their dealers should know this. If you read through it, you will see the following quote:

"Honda kept its global outlook mostly unchanged for the current fiscal year ending March 31, 2019."

So with the Honda Fiscal Year ending at the end of next month, there could be better pricing that week beforehand OR after the final sales numbers are tallied and if it continues to show a decline, then they sure as heck better do something to generate sales (income).

Personally, I may include the above Link when I start negotiating, just to let them know, that I know...

When I was in, the rate discounts appeared to be tied to the extended warranty. Initial quoted rate was 3.9 but dropped to 2.9 with the 5 year extended warranty. Not sure if longer warranties give lower rates.

I don't think that would be the case for the incentives direct from Honda. That's basically the dealer giving you a discount on their cut of the interest rate because they're making it up on the warranty. If the end result is you get a good deal on the car and the warranty then everybody's happy but that's probably what's going on behind the scenes.

After my test drive and a ph conversation with another salesman at different dealer, they both said, Yeah, Hondas' doing no incentives and about 4.0% int HOnda finance.
im about to join and apply at a nearby CU showing 1.99%@54 months new car loan. Plus my trade should be $8-9500 by online my calculations. Which prolly wont be what they think, Im sure.

Just trying to get the best D.O. Price from 4 different dealers via email. There's some movement but they all add "This DO price does not include, Tax, doc fees, dlr add ons, etc. So not really a DO price, to me at all.

I know i will have to go in person to start the "haggle dance". Just trying to get a close number before i do go in. Getting some good figures on EX-Ls. I like Touring features more and I just hate the EXL wheels.

i did the same as you sending out emails to the 3 closest dealers on identical sticker vehicles. told them plus tax and tags. one wasnt even close and only moved 500 off sticker other 2 were over 2800 off sticker. went to lowest one which was closest to house. told them i had a trade and if they low balled i would leave. came in better than i thought and then went 250.00 more on the trade.they wanted the financing and as i said in above post they beat my credit union so i gave it to them. i added the all weather matts and lighted steps after the deal was done. one of the easiest new car purchases i have done. no games or dealer tricks or pressure. picked it up that afternoon after steps were installed. join the credit union but dont apply for the loan yet to see if they can beat or match it
