I like the lights. I got the running boards with the lights. I'm also having the Tailgate Welcome Lights installed. I think the lights will be helpful in a dark parking lot. Frankly, I think they look pretty cool too - who else's car is going to light up all around when you unlock the door in a dark parking lot?

Hey everyone, (in case you did not already know) there are several places selling OEM Passport Accessories at big discounts, here is one: https://www.bernardiparts.com/Departments/Accessories/Honda-Passport/2019.aspx

Not only can you but the accessories, but you can open a pdf of the installation guide. The great thing is you can read about the entire installation process (including the required tools) and determine if you want to do it or take it to a mechanic (or dealer).

I looked at the three different Running Boards and the one with lights has a 14-page installation guide, while the other two (w/no light) are 4-pages long, so it is A LOT MORE work...

I installed the lighted running boards, but if I had seen the reports of the non user-replaceable lights going out over on the Pilot forums I probably would have just gone with the die cast ones instead. Sure it's possible to just replace the whole light assembly with aftermarket LEDs should one of the lights go out. Of course then you'll have to worry about getting weatherproofed lights and weatherproofing your spliced connection.

I also don't like the fact that the lights in the running boards are amber, especially when the headlights are daylight white. Yes, I know the running board lights turn off once the vehicle starts, but it would have been nice if they matched the color of the headlights/fog lights.

Just my thoughts...:)

I feel like I want to get running boards, but I got them on my wife's Pilot and literally never step on it. I guess my 4 year old uses them, but she needs to get her climbing skills up.

Which ones would have the best grip if they were covered with snow or slush?

So the die-cast are aggressive and the black running boards are super aggressive? ??

A related note with Splash Guards, it is either Splash Guards or Fender Flares. Cannot have both installed.
I heard the same but it is false I had the fender flares installed at the dealer and the service advisor also thought I couldn’t have the guards too but they were able to install the flaps too fortunately / love my flares and flaps ?
