Following the stereo options available on the Pilot, we should see a 225 watt system in the base model via 7 speakers and a subwoofer. If you upgrade to a higher end trim level the output jumps to 540 watts and a 10 speaker setup.

I owned a 2016 Pilot Elite, it had the 540w system. My impression of the sound was clear, sound was directional, base was adequate not over baring. One of the best I have ever owned.
Some people measure the quality of the sound by how much base there is, I measure the quality by how much sound you get at a low volume, and the sound stage that it creates

Thanks Gary, I had a chance to check out the Passport 550w Stereo yesterday (Feb 2) and it was just as you stated; clear, with great surround qualities and enough bass to please all but the hard-core Rap fans...!

The upgraded sound system in the Touring is INSANE!! Absolutely incredible sound and bass. Best I have heard since my Bose Surround Nissan. Couldn't be happier. You an hear me from 4 houses away with the windows up without any loss of clarity or distortion.

the audio is probably my favorite part of the car. It is amazing. Best I have heard of all that I have tested. Still waiting to hear the top of the line Harmon Kardon in the Ascent. Also waiting to hear top of line Toyota Highlander.

But the Passport audio sound is exquisite

The only issue that I have run into is that while runnning the 540 watt stereo its hard to hear the dual exhaust system ..
