I received my 32GB USB drive. I followed the instructions above and the update process was straightforward. The maps were updated from version 2018.10 to 2019.11.

The USB drive I ordered is the SanDisk Ultra CZ48 32GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive
Did you keep it in park the whole time? I tried this with my 2016 Accord and got bored so went for a drive and in the middle of said drive the update failed. Never tried after that.

A new update for my Garmin nuvi 2589LMT was released today. Version 8.80 Full Coverage Map of North America 2020.20. The current version in my Elite is 2019.11 which is two or three updates behind.

The Garmin nuvi 2589LMT is by far a better GPS device. The Garmin in the Elite seems to be missing many POI, it can't find the Home Depot in town.

Stuck,

Too bad Honda choose to put a limited feature gps in the Passport. For a couple hundred bucks you can pick up a much better unit.

I have yet to buy a car or truck with a decent gps.

Recently there were updates available on the head unit itself. I did the updates, and now my map data won’t load (the message is “Map data is loading”, and the section of screen where the map usually is, is dark). When I check the GPS settings, it shows me that the GPS is off, and I can’t figure out where to enable it. My current Honda SW version is B.1.0.21, but I’ve seen a notice for B.1.0.25, and one of the items it fixes is the audio pop that occurs when moving forward the first time after starting the car. I’ve tried doing the updates via the USB method, but it tells me my system is already up to date. My Nav software is version 2.05.09, but I don’t know if that really is the most current version.

Frankly, the GPS is a little wonky, so I primarily use CarPlay, but I’ll take the car to the dealer in 2-3 weeks and have them check it.

Other than this minor little glitch, the car is an absolute dream to drive — comfortable, quiet, powerful, and roomy.
