picked up car with the new tuner installed.. Dealership is great.. Said ..."we installed a new tuner but we do not know if it has the same problem you experienced "not bench tested".. This I fully understand..

We had a long discussion of the SOFT CONNECTORS.. on the tuner and radio... THe belief is the connection in some cars was not complete and this is causing a problem requiring a "replugin of the connectors... the soft connector issue is believed to be what is causing the popping and related noises in some cars...

Interesting another passport showed up as I was leaving .. with the popping and related noises.. with or without the cell phone navigation issue and across am/fm/satellite etc..... fortunately this car is "NOT MY MONKEY and NOT MY CIRCUS"

I will be going to the "dead spots I experienced with the car and original tuner to see if the new one fixes the dead spot issue or if that is one of the problems
Within the last month Honda has replace a display, tuner, and two other electronic components as well as a wiring harness. The last install was the tuner to satisfy the radio problem and the speedometer screen on off issues. Hopefully all will be well.

Initially we had several problems all displayed on the screen. Display "box" changed, harness, and speed display replaced. Display problems were reduced. Speed display contend to go dark. Radio changed. With fingers crossed all is well for 1000 plus miles. Like the vehicle, not the problems.

Various symptoms either reported on the display, frozen display. Blank display. Blank speedometer display. Most symptoms demonstrated intermitently increasing frequency over time. According to the dealer shop, repair replacements were Honda knowledge of issues and the answer to solve the problem. Does Honda advise in isolation with shops? Yikes if so. Smoke and mirrors?
