Below is the deal I was offered after 2 weeks of haggling. I am very satisfied with this and gave the dealer my credit card for the $500 deposit. What do you guys think?

“That price is invoice, To earn your business we will sell Passport touring AWD in stock for $38,630 plus dealer installed add and tax,tag, fees. I do have a Black, Black in stock stock # B006819. Would you like to buy the Passport. I can hold with a $500 credit card deposit until you can take delivery before the end of the month. Also you get the lifetime powertrain warranty and 3 years maintance at no extra cost. Please advise.”

Sounds like a good deal. I would suggest that you ask for and review an itemized list of everything that is included in your final price to make sure the dealer is not trying to make his profit elsewhere (fees, warranty, financing, etc if applicable.)

Yeah, depends on what the "dealer installed add" and fees are. Expect a dealer fee at least, it's usually not really negotiable if they're giving you a decent discount.

If they try to charge you for Nitrogen in the tires ask them to look up Honda TSB HSN0906-01 "Filling tires with nitrogen: Why we say NO "

Honda’s recent Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) states that when it comes to filling automobile tires, they (Honda) recommend only using dry, compressed air. At SouthBay Auto Service, we agree. There’s been a lot of hype over nitrogen, and we aren’t buying it! Automobiles are subjected to an entirely different set of conditions than the aircraft/vehicles that have been using nitrogen for years. Think about these points:
“Nitrogen generators produce nitrogen gas from ambient air, but it’s something less than 100 percent pure. To get just that same level of purity into a tire, you’d have to deflate and fill it several times to purge the remaining air. And if you don’t do that, the purity level drops even more. Compressed air is already about 78 percent nitrogen.”
“Although tires filled with nitrogen leak more slowly over time than those with compressed air, they still leak. If you can’t find a place that offers nitrogen, your only option is to fill with compressed air, which, as we’ve said, drops the nitrogen purity.”
“Nitrogen doesn’t offer any better protection than compressed air against cuts and punctures from road hazards. So no matter what you fill the tires with, you’ve still got to check their condition and pressures at least once a month, as we clearly state in the owner’s manual. And on vehicles with TPMS, filling tires with nitrogen won’t reduce the frequency of the low tire pressure indicator coming on in cold weather.”
“Tires filled with compressed air and properly maintained offer the same fuel efficiency and performance as those filled with nitrogen.”

I think that's great for the first month of new Passport sales! But only pay for accessories (add-ons) you ask for. I'm skeptical of these "lifetime" powertrain warranties. Instead of giving you a better price, they're probably buying some weak 3rd-party insurance at a discount and getting a commission (kick-back) for everyone they "sell".

As everyone has said it all depends on what "dealer ad is". But it is nice to see they are getting more realistic. Like said elsewhere take your time and go down each item line by line. Hopefully you already know what " dealer add" is

Ask about the recall !!!! I can’t get delivery until the telematics module is fixed !!!

I had bought 4 previous Honda’s from this dealership and I told them I was not satisfied with there offer 3 weeks ago when I test drove it. Over the weeks we went back and fourth over email when I told them since I had purchased so many vehicles I wanted to pay invoice. When I came in they showed me the paper with invoice at $38630. MSRP is listed at $41,180. This works for me since they are giving me what I want in trade in value for my 2013 accord v6.

I went Touring because I wanted the better stereo speakers, folding mirrors and full led headlights and roof rails.

So msrp on a touring is $41,180 not including the destination fee. So did you pay $38630? plus tax and plate. Did you not have to pay destination fee(1,045) on ur deal? so essentially you got $3595 off?
