a good muffler should could remove the resonator at the flanges and fab a straight pipe with flanges as well.
Well here is supposed to be the diagram for the 2019 Honda Passport exhaust (wasn't around a month ago):

So it seems there is a bit of a "muffler" from the axle back that could possibly be modified. I'm referring to #12 and #13 in the picture. If anything get those cans removed and see how it sounds. Not sure I'd want to straight pipe #11 as that'd be right under the cabin -- concerned about drone.

interesting. yeah 11 is the muffler. i guess the thing before it is also. im skeptical straight piping 12-13 would give you what you want. those look like the kind of resonators that enhance the exhaust note. probably why the passport has the low rpm growl its brethren lack. would be cool to see a sport muffler to replace 11 and the muffler in front of it. magnaflow and others make universal ones you could swap in. just match the stock flanges, get a flex pipe or two, and have a custom bolt on fabbed up. probably need to get an exhaust hangar fabbed too if you want both sections done. i honestly wouldnt worry about drone. these cars have a lot of sound insulation. but, a full turbo back on a wrx wagon never bothered me either. that theres some drone.

i like the idea of keeping the stock tips but adding more sound too. trying to figure out the diameter if those pipes to find you a muffler.

Do you know if it's the same as the Ridgeline? Magnaflow's system might be a swap (the center section (#11). Interesting design. Much smaller flow through (second muffler) in the MF system.

it does look like all pilot/ridgeline/passport exhausts have identical designs up until the rear axle section. however, the ridgeline has a longer wheelbase so that could be an issue. i would thus not recommend that ridgeline exhaust for your passport. even if it does all lineup youd have issues with the exhaust tip and the rear bumper.

the right muffler shop could make it fit, though. theyd probably have to shorten it, which is easy, and could also easily bend the rear section to align with one of the passports bumper cutouts OR fit it to the stock axle back section.

i take back my last post. it wouldnt be bolt on. but if youve got the cash, a muffler shop could make it fit fairly easily.

@swenpaylay -- thanks. Probably cheaper to have a shop cut the OEM mufflers from #11 and add different mufflers in their place.

Not a “build” update but we had our first road trip this weekend. North Orlando area to Asheville, NC area. Left Saturday morning at 6am and returned home today (Sunday) at 7pm. Round trip 1,146 miles; 22.2 MPG average for the whole trip.

Have to say the Cooper tires did fantastic in the rain. It was a lousy weekend weather-wise. Also, I could REALLY feel the roof basket catching the wind at times.

Only hiccup was the Nav screen went blank at one point. It wasn’t until we stopped and completely shut down the HP and start up did it work again. * shrug *

Otherwise, really impressed. That much time in the rig and not feeling fatigued at all is great.

All that time on the road and I only saw one HP -- white one that was heading north on I-95 in Georgia on Sunday as we were heading south...

Completed the second round trip Orlando, FL -- Asheville, NC. This time 1,176 miles with 22.4 mpg.

Second "issue" with the electronics. At one point after messing with the Nav while driving the controls on the steering wheel stopped working. Specifically I was not able to scroll through Sirius/XM presets. This kinda is a drag because this is the second time while driving the system had a function stop working and it was hard to stop, shut down, and restart everything.

A couple of pix from the Biltmore "complex":

Just a 5,000 mile update (odometer reading).

Pros:

-- Comfortable highway vehicle even with my aftermarket wheels and tires.
-- Fuel economy (I came from a Tacoma and a Wrangler Unlimited previously).
-- Interior room, especially the rear seat.
-- Don’t see many on the road.

Cons:

-- Once had the Nav stop working.
-- Twice had the steering wheel control for station selection stop working.
-- Paddle shifters are too slow to engage the gear (whether up or down).

The electronic hiccups are the biggest surprise to me. Also wish it had more lower RPM grunt to move the rig (need more torque in lower RPMs).

Overall still a great vehicle.
