I posted this o another thread, but it seems like it would be appropriate here as well (sorry for the rerun...lol):

As far as prices, the Passport is much more like a Pilot than a CRV, so as much as I would love to see it priced in the middle of the two, I seriously doubt that will be happening.

If Honda was to price the Passport too low, it could steal sales away from the Pilot and with all the parts and features so similar, I now think we will be lucky if it is $2,000 less than a comparable Pilot.

You can build your own Pilot on the Honda Website and then deduct $4,000 ($2,000 less + $2,000 MSRP discount) and you will be close, that's my guess anyways..

Honda had supply problems the first year or two with the Pilot so I can't see them offering discounts or incentives in the first year. Will be interesting to see if they can keep up with demand now that they have an additional model being produced on the same platform.

I worked in Automotive for about 18 years, at a Dealer and then for an OEM supplier and visited production plants in the US, Canada and Mexico many times. I also paid $1k OVER MSRP for my 85 Prelude back in the day.. (lol)

It's all about supply and demand (as you said), I'm in So. Cal. and there are 3 dozen dealers here, so it will be just a matter of finding one that care more about over volume of cars moved off the lot, than making the maximum on every vehicle.

Also I saw So. Cal. Honda dealers offering 0.9% interest on 2019 Pilots, which is super low and tells me they are wanting to sell them by offering incentives.

Also, Also, looking at the "Price-Paid" threads on the Pilot forums, looks like $2-$4k off of MSRP is the norm, and since they are built in the same plant using the same basic parts, processes and people, there is no reason for Honda dealers to NOT give discounts when there are multiple Passports sitting on their lots..

Cheers..

Excited to finally see official pricing which a number of automotive blogs covered. To make it easier I broke it down by model to help anyone that need this extra bit to pull the trigger. Feel free to use it however you like, a dedicated thread even if that's what you guys want.

Included is the destination charge that's about $1000

That translates horribly to Canadian.
44,725 - 59,365. That's significantly higher than the Top Tier Touring Pilot.

I was hoping it would be noticeably less than the Highlander to lessen my 9-speed transmission jitters (pun intended). I think the Pilot Touring was more than the Highlander limited but the Passport is probably only dropping down the the price of the Highlander. I will drive the Passport but may check out the Highlander again if that is the case. Perhaps they will have some new Hybrids in soon also.

Passport Touring (AWD) - $42,225

It's funny how some people think these are high prices, I nicely loaded 4-cyl, non-leather 2019 RAV 4 Adventure is over $41k MSRP on the Toyota website!

And the Passport is a way more of a premium vehicle, IMO

I've been looking at Highlander's too. They are giving $2000 incentive now and can get an EXL for 36k plus tax and tag. I was hoping the passport would be close to that. Looks like 4K more. The Highlander is set for a major remodel 2020 which will really bridge the gap on new tech. But the 2019 has a proven track record. Decisions decisions

Link to Incentives? But, I think that is only on the South side.

I just built an adventure rav 4 for 34200. Us$. Pretty well loaded. And that is msrp before negotiating. Can get a 2019 leather lxe Highlander for 36k. Honda is going to have to be willing to come down if they want my sale. But I'm sure they will have people lined up to pay msrp for a couple of months.
