Just picked up my Black Forest yesterday. The more I looked at, the more I like this color.

Unfornatunately, I can't do anything. Found out later that 1 of the tire pressure is losing. When I drove to the indoor garage this morning. I can hear the hissing noise. I am sure that tire has a hole somewhere. Make appointment with dealer tomorrow, Do you think I am reasonable to request them to get it replace instead of mending???

Cool, I installed my own Running Boards, so I can't see it much different... thanks
How did it go with the running board installation? Is it hard to cut out the 2 plastic trim area to mount the bracket??? I want to get the smooth edge and perfect cut. Any tools / knife that you can suggest that can get a round and smooth edge cut out???

I just found a guy installing RB on a late model Pilot and it is basically the same:

I did not watch all of it, but it gives you a good idea for what to look for.

The hardest part is being down on the ground, I had a couple pieces of foam and some old bath towels, so that made it ok. I'll go thru the steps here for one side of the PP:
1. Unpack everything and separate the Left & Right components.
2. Tools; 13mm socket, a socket wrench, Torque wrench (20in/lb), box cutter with a new blade.
3. Cut out the (3) relief spots in the plastic under piece. DO NOT WORRY ABOUT A PERFECT CUT - IT IS HIDDEN BY THE RB's.
4. Install the brackets for the side of the vehicle you are doing first, LEAVE THEM LOOSE.
5. Lay the Running Board across the brackets, some what line up the mating holes.
6. Install the CENTER bolts into the RB, LEAVE THEM LOOSE.
7. Install the REAR bolts into the RB, LEAVE THEM LOOSE.
8. Install the FRONT bolts into the RB, SNUG THEM with socket wrench.
9. SNUG the CENTER RB bolts.
10. SNUG the REAR RB bolts.
11. SNUG the REAR bolts - to the PP body.
12. SNUG the CENTER bolts - to the PP body.
13. SNUG the FRONT bolts - to the PP body. Use Torque wrench to torque FRONT PP bolts to 20 in/lb.
14. Use Torque wrench to torque CENTER PP bolts to 20 in/lb.
15. Use Torque wrench to torque REAR PP bolts to 20 in/lb.
16. Use Torque wrench to torque REAR RB bolts to 20 in/lb.
17. Use Torque wrench to torque CENTER RB bolts to 20 in/lb.
18. Use Torque wrench to torque FRONT RB bolts to 20 in/lb.
19. Repeat for other side.

Seriously, this takes LESS than two hours, if you have a lift, probably less than 1 hour!
It's sad that the dealers charging $200 - $400 to install these..

NOTE: For Passport Owners in So. Cal.: Bring your NON-LIGHTED Running Boards over and I'll install them for $100...!

Cheers

Thanks for all the detail. That is very helpful.

NOTE: I am on the other side of the State, Brooklyn, NY. Don't think I will drive cross state to So. Cal to get the running board install. Thanks.

Washed my Passport today after three road trips there were bugs all over it!

Found its first downfall. I can’t reach the roof to dry it even when I stand in the seats and hold onto the roof rack. I’m only 5’ tall and not at home where my ladder is!

@ProdGirl , I've been using these little aluminum steps that clip onto your door latch for easy access to the roof. They're cheap, strong, and stow perfectly in the back door pocket. They might help.

Click on "little aluminum steps" in my original post and it will take you to the Amazon page for the steps I purchased. They're great!
Cool - the link didn't show on my iPhone. But got it on my laptop.

Today was skid plate day! The boys at JSport USA just got the official Passport skid plate back from the powder coater and I was able to pick one up.

Jordan was kind enough to meet me to drop off the plate in one of the JSport Passports. I like that the first Passport I saw "in the wild" was trimmed out similar to mine.

The install is 6 bolts and was done in 20 minutes. Nice piece, well thought out and surprisingly light.

I thought I recognized that PP in their post!

I have the same and use a little ladder a picked up from here to get to the little step that I also picked up from here, and it works out great for shortish me ?

I live in a state with a lot of gravel on the roads and a high likelihood of front end rock chips etc. these passports have really open front bumpers/grills that make the radiator quite vulerable to rocks and debris.

Im wondering if anyone has looked into a mesh screen cover to fit over the radiator to protect from rocks. Such things are common on working pickups and offroaders cars, rally cars, etc. just wondering if anyone has seen a pilot/ridge/passport solution.

I’m definitely thinking about Jsports skid plate in the future (see p 11 of this thread) as I’m on many fire roads in northern MN but at close to 400 I’m thinking of doing my own mesh type of protection/next weekend it all starts for me heading up north which will be my 1st test/maybe I would rather pay 400 to put the dock in as the water is cold asf ???

Post pics if you do anything! Seems easy enough to install something like 1/8” chicken wire or something.
