Help with My Honda Music upload

I've been trying to upload mp3 music files to My Honda Music. Followed the directions in the manual and onscreen. Selected upload files, selected transfer, upload status bar appears and completes in a few seconds, but then system reports no files in My Honda Music. What am I doing wrong?

What was the file format that you were trying to upload? I used a 4GB USB key in the USB port under the display. It took a good 30 minutes or so to upload everything (AAC format @ 256Kbps).

Mine took a really long time to complete. Probably longer than 30 minutes. All mp3 files in my case.

MP3 format 256k. Also used the port under the display. Playing files directly from USB drive works fine.

Is it a flat directory structure? That is, files are not organized in sub-folders? If the files have appropriate metadata, My Honda Music will sort and organize by album, artist, etc. after import.

I've tried it both ways, first all files on the USB not in folders, that failed. Then I put files into three separate folders, tried uploading all folders, that failed. Tried uploading just one folder, that also failed.

The Owner's Manual is not very helpful or specific... incompatible USB Flash Drive or unsupported file format.

Are you using the same flash drive that you were playing directly via the USB port? Painful, but try to format the flash drive, reload the music and import to My Honda Music?

What size USB flash drive are you using? Have seen that Honda recommends max of 64GB, but also seen that people have had no issues with 128GB.

I think mine was 16GB. I also think that's the max capacity of the Honda drive.

Yes, the max capacity for My Honda Music is about 8GB.

I had the same problem when I did mine,I took all of songs out of their subfolders and placed them in the root of the flash drive and used a newer 2.0 32gb flash drive and it worked.

I've tried 3 different flash drives, all were 16gb. Tried uploading only a few songs. No luck. Oh well, I'll just keep playing my MP3 files directly from my my flash drive as I've been doing.

Were they formatted fat 32?

Yes, all the flash drives I've tried are formatted FAT 32.

RATS, I THOUGHT I HAD THE FIX!

I'd try doing a map upgrade to see if it can write/read the USB.

I updated the map today, no problem. I used the same USB drive that I tried using to upload the music files. I tried uploading music files again today, no luck.

As I think I've already said, files are MP3 256k.

Are all of the music file files at the top level of the directory?
Is there DRM protection on the file?

I tried to attach an MP3 file but I get an error, something to the effect it's an unrecognized file format. Apparently I can't attach an MP3 file.
Yes all music files are at the top level of the directory folder
I don't think there is DRM protection. If there is, it's on ALL my MP3 files.

I just put in about 100 songs, all mp3 without any problems.
