turned on AC first time today, did not work. Dealer 60 miles away said it probably low on freon. I am a little disappointed as with 6 other brand new Honda vehicles I have never had to go back to dealer with anything other than regular maintenance. I really like the Passport, I am sure this is no big deal.

I had the same issue, it’s a problem that the pilot shares with the passport. 2 hours to diagnose, 1 hour to fix. It was a stupid evaporator gasket. Air conditioning works great now “ no big deal”

Been watching this thread closely! So far no cold air from the AC in the Elite. I been wondering if there is a cut off temperature where the ambient is too low and the AC is programed not to function.

75 degrees F and no AC today. Back to the dealer again I bet.

Had mine fixed at Honda dealer. Seems ok maybe not as cold as other cars I have had. It is not hot here in Minnesota so will see how cold it feels when it gets warmer. Took exactly 5 hours to fix, they gave me loaner car to get around Fargo and filled my tank as I live 60 miles from dealer.

I have noticed Passport A/C blows fine, but does not seem to cool as well as prior vehicles. Would a faulty evaporator gasket cause the problem?
Just a thought on my old 16 Pilot if you have Eco button on it cuts down the effectiveness of the heater and a/c. If you turn it off it gets warmer and cooler air through the vents. I’m guessing the Passport is the same way. I know some are having issues that need fixed but for others maybe try turning Eco off.

I will check that this week. We normally run with the Eco button on. Thank you for the suggestion.

This spring before I noticed that I had no air conditioner and it wasn’t cooling, there was a constant “bubbling noise” when the climate control wasn’t calling for heat, fan wasn’t running. Also the defroster was working as well as it should.
Our Passports are so quite that the “bubbling” noise can be annoying.

Since I got the evaporator gasket replaced, the climate control works great, no bubbling noise!

We have not heard a bubbling noise. Hoping it’s because running in Eco mode.
The noise won’t disappear because that Is air the in rushing around in your evaporator. When you lose refrigerant, air will rush in to take its place. “bubbling noise” is just that, air bubbles mixed with refrigerants.

The Elite goes back to the dealer this Thursday. AC is Kaput. I now find the new Hondas on the same level as the old BSA motorcycles.

For those that can't remember that time period or didn't live it; the following. 10K miles and the motor was Kaput, needed a total overhaul. Then the infamous Lucas Electric. If riding after dark, carry two spare head light bulbs. At least one would burn out. In some places Lucas was referred to as the "Prince of Darkness". As relating to AC, an old Lucas joke. Why do the English drink warm beer? The punch line: Lucas also makes refridgerators. Seems Honda has taken BSA's place when it comes to AC.

Stuck,

The joys of early adoption. I called two dealers here in Montana and from the sound of it EVERY passport sold in MT has the ac issue...only about 8-10 of us so far. They told me its the evaporator unit and theyre stocking up to replace them all. Also looking into the TCU service bulletin as my touch screen freezes and i cant start the car with the app.

I do not think you can start the car with the app.
