Washed my one day old Crystal Black Pearl Passport Touring. The dealer's car wash had at least 15 or more cars in the waiting line, so the sales manager said if I took it and cleaned it up myself I could come back another time and get a free tank of gas. Ok with me as I don't care running my cars through an automatic car wash. I never had a black car before so I guess this is my new hobby - trying to keep it clean. Black looks so good ... WHEN it's clean!

Went through all the customizable settings and programmed the Homelink garage door opener. Also ordered the "full" owner manual and navigation manual. For those who might not know, you can download the full manuals on the Honda Owners site and order printed manuals within the first six months of ownership. There's lot of stuff that's not covered in the manual that comes with the car.

Bought a set of splash guards. Dealer's part department had said they would price match if I brought a printed copy to them since they need to submit it to admin. College Hills Honda sells them online for $72 (retail $115). My dealer even had them in stock. Very nice high quality molded splash guards. Waiting for a break in the weather to install.

Installed sunvisor stickers to cover the warning labels. Those labels never bothered me before, but with the Passport's all black interior they really stand out. I got them from Sunvisorsolutions.com. For $4.00 you can order a sample of all the colors and fabrics. They offer four colors of black. I chose #1575 "Perfect Black". Very close match to the color and texture of the sunvisor. I order the full sheet and cut to size, espcially since I wanted to cover the two warning stickers on the driver side visor with a one-piece black sticker.

My brother had purchased the sample sheet a couple of years ago for his Ridgeline. I used it and compared the shades of black and thought the "Perfect Black" was the best match for color and texture. Not perfect but very very close. Using a full sheet, you can custom cut for both visors and still have some left over. It would also be good as a liner for the sliding tray in the center console, which I plan to use the extra for.
Even though it's a VERY close match, it is obvious that this is a "sticker" over the original warning labels as there is a nominal amount of thickness to the "sticker".

One other question. Does it cut cleanly and is it easy to cut?
I first tried cutting it with good scissors, but because of the adhesive backing I found it better to cut with a sharp box-cutter razor knife, (or any sharp razor blade type cutter). Of course lay it on a piece of cardboard or something to protect the surface you're cutting on. Using the razor blade produced a clean cut. Again, note that I made one large piece to cover both warning stickers on the driver sunvisor, rather than making two separate pieces.

Put the license plates and new frames on today (plate transfer from previous vehicle). I thought I'd go with black license plate frames since my Passport is Crystal Black Pearl, but decided to go with chrome frames for a bit of contrast. Splash guards install later this week, stay tuned!

Out of curiosity....Why did you not try to remove the sticker using the Blow Dryer method?
I tried that method a few years ago on another car and it didn't work very well. I watched the video and once he removed the sticker he pointed out the discoloration on the visor and if you look closely you can also see a difference of texture in some areas where the sticker was. It might work great for some but I didn't want to chance messing up the visor. Note also he mentioned he just bought that visor at the dealer and it's never been installed in a car. I wonder why he had to buy a new visor? Messed up the original trying out the sticker removal process?

A nice break from the Oregon rain today. Got the lawn mowed, washed the Passport and installed spash guards. Crystal Black Pearl looks so good when it's clean!

Had an exterior detail today. They removed the waterspots caused from sitting on the dealer's lot, polished and waxed. I've never had a professional detail, I've always done it myself but I couldn't have done it so well.

My local dealer matched their price on splash guards. Said they would match prices as long as they don't lose money. They require a printed copy of the webpage, and will not match Ebay prices.

Are usually can print out their prices and take them to my local Honda dealer and they match them every time
Yep, I did that (printed the web page from College Hills) and my local dealer matched the price on splash guards. Parts guy said they need a print out to turn in to administration, but they will not match ebay prices.

Took my wife's elite and had the paint ceramic coated. I couldn't believe the difference in the shine after picking it up.
Is it true ceramic coating? Do you mind sharing the cost with us? I've been thinking of having mine ceramic coated at a local detail shop that I trust. The reason I ask if it's true ceramic coating is that Meguairs now sells a "ceramic" coating wax, that has some skeptical reviews. Also what color is your new Passport?

True ceramic coating. Took it to detail shop to have pro- grade done. They had it a week and cost was 645.00
That's a good price compared to the prices I've seen locally. I'm kind of surprised they had to have it for a week.

I gave a neighbor a ride in my Passport. She's been researching them and enjoyed taking a close look at it without the bother of a salesperson hovering over her, as she said. She was definitely impressed.

I've been thinking about applying that tint to the fog lights. Is it easily removeable if I decide I don't like it?
