Yeah while honda is focusing on performance and tech Toyota just keeps manufacturing reliable vehicles.I used to have many vehicles from Toyota, hated the outdated tech inside, but never had issues like these with the mechanicals.
I take it you opted for the 2.5l crv not the 1.5t then?My wife has a '17 CRV EX-L and so far.....with 13k miles there hasn't been a single issue. It's my own fault for buying the Passport. I read about the transmision issues that the Pilot had, but then I read that Honda fixed many issues on the transmission for the Passport. I was looking for a vehicle that wasn't too long like the Pilot as I didn't need 3rd row so the Passport fit he bill.
I sure am kicking myself now. I paid near $40k for a vehicle that has constant issues and it has been in the shop nearly 25% of the time since I've owned it.
Sounds like warped rotors, I believe at least one other poster has experienced issues with warped rotors already too..Actually no we have the 1.5t with surprisingly no issues.
I've noticed that on mine when I press the brake to slow down if I'm driving over 50mph, I can sense the steering wheel vibrating which is normally the sign of an alignment I presume? But at 5k miles?
Yeah 2 yrs 30,000 miles isn’t enough time to have any issues resulting from the oil dilution problem. Over time the poor lubrication will result in prematurely worn mechanical parts (bearings, shafts, rings etc.) Which is why Honda extended the warranty for all the 1.5t engines to 6yr/unlimited miles. There’s not different designs of the engine so they all have the dilution issue it’s just gonna be more prevalent in colder climates and/or for short trip drivers. This is exactly why we didn’t buy a CRV.Not everyone owning a CRV has those issues. We put 30000 miles on our 17 CRV Touring. Not a single issue. We traded the CRV and bought the Passport for size and power.
Sad to say but that is their procedure as per Honda’s repair manual:Here's the dealers response.

Yeah that’s pretty sketchy IMO.. I live in Oklahoma and if I were trying to rush home to beat a tornado (as I typically do after work April-May) and my transmission just said “naw not today” after being at Honda for said issue, I would probably have to choke a bitch. Keep us posted on your progress with them!True, but I am already in touch with Honda Corporate. I just can't trust "intermittent" issues that could mean life or death.
