I’m in NJ. Best quote by just over $1,000 on an AWD Touring model is in MD, where I grew up and have family. For those that have traveled far to purchase, how have you handled post-purchase issues? I’m concerned about the thought of having to drive 500 miles to work out issues. Any advice?

Nice / you should be 100% fine and any maintenance or warranty issues or whatever would be handled by your local Honda dealer without a problem plus I think people even fly in to far away places to save some moneys (personal experience people do this often without a problem).

Anyways good luck as I like the PP a lot ??

I was ready to drive to two different dealers, that were about 100 miles away, as they had the Steel Gray Touring model I wanted, but neither of them would "deal "and as luck would have it, I ended buying it from the dealer that was closest to home (about 5miles away).

The problem with these California Dealers is that they are VERY unwilling to put anything in writing and I was NOT going to drive 100 miles (one way) to have them jack me around.

If you can get the dealer (500 miles away) to give you a quote in writing, then as a last hail-mary attempt, I would take that quote to your local dealers and give them one last chance...

That is what I did and I was successful! Then went for the extra point with discounts off of accessories.

i asked for "best price" quotes from a half dozen statewide dealers when I was preparing to buy my Passport. One dealer in particular came right out and said he would not give me an email price, "because you'll just take it to your local dealer and have them match the price". I assured him if he had the best price I'd drive 60 miles to make a deal, he still wouldn't give me a price.
