The car started beeping and we saw the warning lights go on. It went into neutral, gave us only a couple seconds to turn to the side, and it went into park.

Thanks Kyam. Sounds terrible and it's way not safe. I'm about to buy a Passport and basically this is why I joined the forum. But reading your post and the ones about the display that cannot be turned off (which is a known problem in Honda's premium brand), gives me second thoughts. It's such a disappointment since this car would fit for my needs and my life almost perfectly. I was thinking for a couple of weeks whether I should buy a car with the problematical ZF transmission at all. And by the time a decided I'll take my chance, your and other Passport owners post came into my view. Now I'm back again to the point where I'm hesitating between the Passport and a Titanium Escape. I would like a V6, I assume accelerates fine - what is your impression? Does the Passport acceleration good? Or it can be felt that the car is heavy? I won't have time to test it before the 1st week of August so, this is why I'm trying to get as much info as I can.

WOW!!! This scares the crap out of me. I am on the fence between getting a CRV and a Passport, but this is a deal breaker for the Honda Passport 2019. The CRVs are good too, so I'll have to re-focus on them. You have to wonder if a issue as serious as this will be fixed on the 2020 line, which is already in production and presumably is getting the same defective sensor/assembly.

Headbanger, unfortunately the CR-V comes with CVT transmission. Sadly the RAV4, Subaru Forester and Outback, Nissan Rogue are also equipped with CVT. Escape, Sportage, CX5 and Tucson are not with CVT from small SUV category. But none of them has V6 and in case you would like a strong engine you have to choose a turbo engine. Passport sounds as a good option but comes with the problematical ZF transmission. I'll test the Titanium Escape and the AWD Passport as well. I'm really curious how they behave.
