What was your primary reason to put 18” wheels on?

I find my Elite rides “rough” even on smooth roads. Feels like every road is gravel.

Do they 18s help the “rough” ride?
Primary reason is that with 18" wheels I can drop the air pressure when driving in sand on the beach. Taller sidewalls allow for a much bigger "footprint" and more float in soft sand. Dropping the air pressure on 20" low profile tires does not improve sand traction much.

As for ride quality, I don't notice much ride quality difference with the 18" wheels. However, I went with 18" Michelin Defender LTX tires which have a deeper, more aggressive tread pattern so they are not as smooth. If you go with 18" wheels and Michelin Premier LTX tires you would have a much smoother ride.

Do you think the Michelin Premier LTX on the stock wheels would make a difference to the ride quality? Assuming they Michelin’s come in that size.
I would think so based on my experience with that tire. By far the quietest and smoothest tires I have ever bought.
The only downside is that they have a rather shallow tread pattern even when new. Our LR4 wore them out in 20K miles. But on a lighter vehicle like the Passport they should last much longer.
