Hi Gary, thanks for all of your follow up on this problem. I am thinking of purchasing either a Passport or Pilot and after going over a lot of threads on various forums and review sites two things I found people noting on the con side was the rear "clunking" noise and aspects of the transmission. I was hoping that the clunking noise had already been diagnosed and could be resolved - before I purchased. Question for you. Can you duplicate the noise by going over a speed bump at a little speed? If so, then you could replicate for a technician. I did this with a similar issue on my Subaru.
