Honda has yet to reveal what sort of engine options they will offer on the Passport, but since it will share the Pilots platform, its safe to assume we will see the same engine under the hood. This means a 3.5l V6 that's rated at 280hp and 262lb-ft of torque. Now we just need to determine if they will add a second engine from the CR-V to the lineup. That model is offered with both a 2.4' and 1.5l

A lower output and lower displacement powerplant is needed, as much of an off-roader it is, everyday folks will want it just as much... just without all the extras. Till this day I see older generation PP's used for basic commutes, nothing special.

Very happy with the proven V6 instead of the complexity and questionable long-term reliability of a smaller turbo engine. Especially has Honda is already having engine oil dilution issues with it's latest generation of small turbo engines.

For those who want more efficiency and lower cost I could see the desire for a smaller engine, but this is not a small CUV.

Having driven the Subaru Crosstrek with an undersized engine that sounded like it would break apart during even normal acceleration due to the strain I'm glad Honda is NOT offering a smaller engine on the Passport.

I was reading about the new Blazer with V-6 engine. It has an engine start/stop system that cannot be disabled by the driver. I hate this system.
