I’ve got a USB stick with a billion songs on it as well. And can’t seem to get the iPhone calls and messaging to work when I have it plugged into the iPod USB port?

Would a splitter enable both devices to be used or can I use an IPod and IPhone in a splitter and have both work?

Hook the iphone up via Bluetooth and then plug in the usb stick. I haven’t tried a splitter but I would venture to guess it wouldn’t read both at same time. Or put your music on you phone and play from there while it’s connected.
There’s something I’m either doing wrong or a technical issue with hooking it up Bluetooth. It just

That's what I was thinking - software updates need to be done first according to the manual. If it's an older iphone it may not be compatible. Maybe there is a privacy setting or something that needs adjusted on the iPhone. Try turning Bluetooth off on iphone and doing a soft reset of the iPhone and then turn BT back on. Just throwing out ideas.
I’ll try the restart. It is an iPhone 8.

So I found a way to beat the USB / Honda playlist 8GB issue.

I dropped my 64GB on 4 different 8GB USB drives and uploaded them to The Honda Playlist and it took all 64GB! It took forever, but it worked!!

Also, did the latest iPhone 8 update, Passport system updates (not easy to find a parking lot with WiFi (had to go back to the dealer), restarted my phone, turned blue tooth on/off and still can’t get CarPlay messages or phone to work thru the car unless it’s plugged in? Which isn’t an issue. However, I’ve been told to not keep your phone charging and let the battery go to 20% before charging.

The wireless charging pad is great as I am not a fan of all the cables!

Apple CarPlay only works when phone is plugged into the front USB port. It’s not a wireless connection. Refer to manual for more info. You can connect phone via Bluetooth (doesn’t need to be plugged in) or through CarPlay when plugged in.
I get this error when trying to connect via

Bluetooth?

I think need to complete below:
If your iPhone isn't detected by CarPlay, make sure that CarPlay isn't restricted. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions, tap Allowed Apps and make sure that CarPlay is enabled.
Go to Settings > General > CarPlay, and tap Forget This Car.
Thanks for the suggestion. However do I go into the passport settings or my phone settings. Either way if I go into settings I don’t have a screen Time option in my car or the phone?
