First issue.. 2 times..
Pixel 3a. .. Android auto would not reconnect .. auto pay all working.... Unplugged phone engine running...

Out of car engine running

Back in car plugged USB. No connection..

Only got to work by shutting engine and opening and closing door to get it to recycle and work again



Second issue

Everything working. Made phone call engine running car parked... Unplugged phone open door left car... Engine still on.. call in progress..

Person in car ended call on infotainment screen

Back in car.. plugged phone into USB
Radio volume would not work.. zero sound.. volume knob would show level but zero sound.. some stations would not connect
Some would.. no sound on any but volume knob shows a sound level

Fixed by engine off.. unplugged phone
Open door
Close door
Engine on

All works

Just shutting off the infotainment system with non did nothing..


Anyone else with any of the above

now 2500 miles

third issue

fm and am station locked in.... usb connected to pixel 3a phone
no volume...
rotating volume knob has slow response but display shows volume level and increases and decreases BUT NO sound
changing stations very slow to find
some show cannot connect
no volume on any

shut off system .. turn on system.. no volume

shut off engine

no volume

open door ..close door... start engine.. infotainment spools up... and all is good

appointment Tuesday am with dealer

any ideas?

Dealer for evaluation

Provided video of the last event...

they indicate they will be working with honda tech and Provide them a copy of the video...

dealer says this is first instance they have seen in passport or pilot..

but have a customer having connection problems.. put them in another car for a few days to determine if it is the car or the phone...... as they cannot reproduce it in the customers car..

dealer is trying and they understand the importance of getting it fixed .....

anyone else having any of these problems??

all 4 of the grab handles move at the connection points to the head liner... the mounting system is the apparent cause and the design actually is the cause.. Belief is there will not be a failure from continued usage.

trim above the headlights also loose at the ends. NO clips in the installation as per the blow ups.. assembled as designed.. different then the pilot..

glove box has no clips either as per blow up...

this car drives nicely and handles to my expectations.. great mileage... only real issue is infotainment system at this time..

Told passport tuner made by Panasonic.. at least the one in my ex-l

Five days for dealership to get a replacement unit to install..

they provided a loaner car ...

The 2018 pilot loaner infotainment system has none of the issues (yet) since I have been on it...

Honda has not shared the cause of the issues.
