It's a good question. The salesperson told us that all of the AWD transmissions have the cooler standard, but that's not the way I read it on the Honda website. I'm not planning to tow anything close to 5k lbs at the moment, but I'm planning to have a mechanic confirm it before I do.
Was told by my dealer same thing - cooler included as standard on Elite. Purchased vehicle than looked at cooler install instructions because I still had my doubts. Cooler not installed. Talked with dealer sales and service reps. All agreed after some research cooler not pre-installed or standard equipment, it is an accessory at additional cost. I stated I purchased my vehicle with the understanding it was included. Dealer agreed to cover parts & labor and install one.

Definitely fake news.

I just visually confirmed that there are no cooler lines coming out of the transmission block near the ATF warmer, nor is there a transmission cooler mounted in front of the radiator on the driver's side where it would be otherwise installed according to the Honda installation instructions. As a sidenote, I am planning on doing this ATF cooler install myself while all the fittings are newish.

I also thought I saw something about Pilot's having this as standard equipment as well.
In my case sales rep stated Passport just a shorter sportier Pilot (which has standard cooler). Not true.

My RL did come with one standard.
