Can't speak for the Passport but I know for the current gen Civic hatchbacks with the 1.5T, the sport model wants better gas and advertises higher power vs. the regular version. Met the Hondata guy once and he told us the engine tune is actually the same between sport and regular models, it's purely a fuel quality thing that dictates the power output.
If Honda is running the same engine in both cars, I wouldn't be surprised if they left the tune the same and let the octane sensor determine output.
