I had a 2018 Chevy Equinox with the 2.0 turbo. "Recommended" fuel was 91 octane, although it would run fine on 87 or 89. Those smal turbo engines apparently need high octane fuel to meet the advertised HP rating. BTW I had the Equinox for less than a year. After a few months I realized what a POS it was and I remembered why I hadn't had a domestic brand vehicle since 1993.
