When I took a 2019 Passport out for a test drive I was surprised at the sound of the exhaust! I have owned several muscle cars in my days, I can appreciate the sound of a magnificent engine.

What I forgot to say is the sound to me is intoxicating, this video doesn’t do justice to the sound it makes when test driving the Passport..

It sounds pretty good for stock I'll admit and its nice that there's not a whole lot of engine noise. Anyone come across clips that give us a sense of what it sounds like from outside the vehicle?

I have a 2017 CR-V that the has engine noise”from the front” and a HR-V that has sound coming from the rear, no engine noise.

As far as road noise, Less then most and more then few I guess. As I remember it’s was quite on the highway, but then it was a week ago since I took a test drive.

The one I drove for a test drive was very solid and quiet, don't think I got up to much over 45 though and had the windows up with the radio off..

I noticed that the sound was emitting when you were talking and driving.

Question: Did the source of the sound emit from the Instrument panel (dashboard) or was it recorded from the outside of the vehicle? I ask this because some 'sporty-type' cars have a system whereby a faux sound is funnelled into cockpit from another source such as, I surmise, the exhaust manifold and not from the exhaust outlets. Some or all Ford Mustangs and all Focus RS's, fo instance, have this sound method.

Ford pumps it into all the EcoBoost. They are fast as heck, better than the 5.0 but they sound like a Rav4 with diarrhea. If they didn’t pump in the noise no one would buy them.
The early reviews noted the cool passport engine noise but stated it was not coming from the exhaust, it’s the 3.5 engine that’s growling and not in a bad way

I hope it's not fake sound. I personally love the engine sound. It has a nice deep tone that gets aggressive when you step on it.

It's the engine and you can hear it roar much better in Sport mode...!

It is very subtle in our Touring. Then again, I haven’t really stuck my foot in it hard.
