No, but that's a good idea. I will try that. It's not like the carplay connection drops out, it's just the microphone.

I have this exact same problem where I'm on the phone (iPhone Xs; iOS 12.3.1) plugged into the front USB on CarPlay and the person on the other end just stops hearing me. Sometimes it happens right as I answer a call and they can't hear me. Sometimes it happens after a few minutes of talking. Also happens over Bluetooth. Did you ever find a solution?

Any luck? Seems like multiple reports of the same issue with different phone models. The dealer told me it was Verizon ? although Verizon has their own issues, I highly doubt that's the problem here.
