Let’s dedicate a thread to the people who are putting oversized AT tires on their oem 20s. I’ve more or less decided to go this route but I want to hear what the practical advantages are with 265/50/20 vs. 275/45/20 .

I’d love to hear about some real world experiences in mud, gravel, and snow, too. I’ve gone oversized on stock wheels on other cars in the past and have had issues with ice buildup and/or rocks getting stuck in the smaller gaps in the inner fenders so I’d love to know what that gap truly ends up being like. Let’s just start this off by saying we don’t care if we throw our speedos off by 2mph.

Check out some of the other threads in this forum. Someone outfitted 275/45/20s on their Passport. This tire helps fill the wheel well even though the diameter is the same. It leaves a half inch gap between the wheel well and tire at full lock. I wonder what clearance you get with the JSport 1.5” lift.
I have looked very thoroughly. I made this thread specific to people going oversized on the stock wheels so we can directly discuss the differences of the two sizes rather than having sporadic posts in more generalized tire threads.
